The VELUX Balcony Window, also known as the VELUX Cabrio Balcony, is a masterpiece of innovation and engineering that creates a balcony space for your home without the hassle and expense of planning permission, scaffolding, wall demolition or any of the other challenges of building an actual balcony on the side of your house. The VELUX Balcony Window is as simple as installing a normal window but can massively transform your space, bringing the outside in, giving you bundles of natural daylight and all the panoramic views and feel of a balcony, without the hassle.
The VELUX Cabrio opens outwards from its top hinge, providing extra headroom and panoramic views when open, and fitting completely flush with your roofline when closed, adding a touch of sleek luxury to your home.
The Cabrio Balcony Window comes triple glazed, with a toughened outer pane, easy-to-clean coating and a laminated inner pane for additional safety, U-value 1.3W/m²K. It has a white painted finish on the inside to match most interiors and the traditional dark grey exterior aluminium frame. There are three available sizes, the MK19 (78 x 252cm), PK19 (94 x 252cm) or SK19 (114 x 252cm).
The VELUX Balcony window can be installed in roof pitches between 35° and 53°.
Looking for a VELUX Approved installer in your area? Checkout the Velux Find an Installer Page here. Your fitter may use his own flashings when fitting your window but if you want to use the Velux Cabrio flashing kits that are specifically designed for use with this balcony window, remember to add them to your cart after you’ve purchased the window.
VELUX utilise high performance materials in the window construction to provide best in class energy efficiency, insulation and an air-tight seal.
You can keep the bottom half of the VELUX Balcony window closed, with the top half opening just like a normal VELUX window, or open the top and bottom for the full balcony experience.
Just like with normal VELUX windows, the top-bar can be pulled once to allow fresh, filtered air to flow into your interior space through the ventilation flap, whilst you are asleep or away, without unlocking or opening the window itself. A dust and insect filter prevents anything other than fresh air from entering your room.
Cleaning your Cabrio window couldn’t be easier. To clean the outer pane, rotate the sash 180 degrees. The sash must be secured in position by sliding the barrel bolt into the bushing at the bottom of the side frame. The air filter can be removed and washed with ordinary household cleaners. Fully rotate and secure the window in cleaning position, then remove the filter from the filter rail.
It’s also possible to combine your VELUX Balcony Window with fixed sloping windows or even double up to have two cabrio balconies side-by-side, as shown in some of the product imagery. For questions on this or anything else, feel free to give us a call and we’ll be more than happy to discuss your options.
