The black-and-tan colour range in this single-strip floor from the Da Capo Collection results in an extremely rustic expression. The naturally occurring knots and cracks add to the quality of the surface, giving the floor a worn complexion reminiscent of reclaimed timber. Each board is carefully brushed to bring out the quality of the grain and highlight the natural properties of the wood. Four-sided bevelling ensures a classic, full plank look and feel. Every board is meticulously hand-scraped, which emphasises the aged appearance of the floor.
Kahrs have been working with wood for more than 160 years, making them one of the olders flooring companies in the world.
They were the first to develop an engineered, multi-layer floor, way back in 1941. Using under-layers of flexible softwoods, meant the floors were far less reactive to moisture and temperature changes, increasing their strength and durability.
Always eco conscious, Kahrs gained ISO 14001 environmental certification in 1997, as waste products from production are turned into heating for the local community around the main factroy plant in Nybro, Sweden. Any ash residue from production is also used as fertilizer in the surrounding forests.
Today, Kahrs is a global market leader, with sales in 70 countries. Their passion for high quality craftmanship, environmental standards and continual innovation gives them a global reputation as one of the highest quality wood floor manufacturers in the market.
