The Kahrs Oak Lino X is a limited edition colour and currently available at a fantastic price. Each plank measures 1900 x 190 x 14mm with a 4-sided micro-bevel giving that full plank look and feel when laid. The brushed and handscraped finish accentuates the natural texture of the oak giving this floor real wow factor. The surface of the floor is treated with oil, protecting the oak against wear and tear without compromising the natural colour and texture of the wood. We recommend an additional coat of Kahrs Satin Oil is applied to the floor once laid, to seal into the joints.
The Kahrs Oak Lino X is a 1-strip floor, meaning the full width of each plank is covered in a single piece of real oak hardwood. Kahrs’ innovative multi-layer construction gives the floor strength, flexibility, durability and sustainability. The floor is constructed with a 2.5mm top layer of oak that can be re-sanded 1 – 2 times throughout its lifetime. Below the real oak, layers of flexible moisture and heat resistant softwoods like spruce and pine allow the floor to expand and contract in changing tempratures and humidities without undermining the strength of the board. It also makes the floor perfect for use with underfloor heating.
This floor will last 20 years or more with minimal maintenance. An occasional fresh coat of oil can be applied to the surface of the floor to renew and refresh its natural beauty and ensure the oak is protected.
Multi-layer floors are a sustainable and eco-friendly choice too. The premium, long-growing hardwoods that are less resistant to moisture and temperature changes are used only on the top-layer, massively reducing wastage and protecting our hardwood forests.
