The Velux GGU 0073 is a basic, yet high quality, centre pivot window with a laminated inner pane for extra safety. This means that if the window is broken (which is extremely unlikely, thanks to the toughened outer pane) the glass will not shatter. Instead it will crack, and remain suspended by the laminate coating, eliminating the risk of dangerous shards of glass being scattered across the floor. This is an excellent safety feature that makes the Velux GGU 0073 perfect for use where children or vulnerable people are present.
The high-quality polyurethane finish protects the wooden core from moisture that could potentially warm and destroy the window frame. On top of this, it makes the window much easier to clean and maintain. These attributes means that you can install the Velux GGU 0073 in areas of high humidity, such as a bathroom or kitchen, without having to worry about damage to the frame.
The centre pivot opening action allows the window to rotate through 180 degrees, making it possible to clean the outside of the roof window thoroughly from inside your home without putting yourself in a dangerous position.
The centre pivot action also has its downside, as half of the window opens into the room, potentially creating a hazard for you to bang your head on. This problem can be avoided using a
