A fire door is a door with a fire resistance rating and is used in a building as part of a passive fire protection system. Its role is to prevent fire and smoke from spreading between rooms. In terms of how long it will provide this barrier, the door is given a rating based on the number of minutes it will withstand fire and smoke for.

Our doors at Kens Yard are rated according to the British Woodworking Federation guidelines, which is one of the UK’s largest certifying organisations of its kind. They are rated FD30 which withstands fire for 30 minutes.
