Kährs is the world's oldest wood floor manufacturer that is still in business and even more impressively is Europe's biggest wood flooring manufacturer and one of the world's most innovative companies involved in the processing of wood.
One of the many innovations introduced by Kährs came in the year 2000 when they invented
Woodloc® flooring. This unique, glueless floor joint makes it even easier to lay the floor and even more amazingly it means that gaps never appear between the boards despite any changes in temperature in the home.
The latest Kährs invention came in 2004 when they release their
Activity Floor range which is a sprung sports floor. This floor can be laid quicker and over larger areas. It is approved for the global standard for sports floors, DIN, and it is used at major sporting events.

Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring represents real wood that is produced by attaching the strands,
particles and veneer of wood, together with adhesives, to form composite
materials. This specific type of construction will provide your room with a
classic elegant look because of the wood veneer that retains all the beauty of
its particular type of wood.
Engineered wood flooring also compensates for the swelling and
contraction of natural wood allowing
engineered floors to be installed in
places where solid wood cannot.
Normally, the more layers there
are, the higher the quality of the flooring because during its manufacturing,
the layers are placed at different angles resulting in increased
stability which enables them to be installed directly over concrete
floors, flooring with radiant heating or as a floating floor on top of any kind
of subfloor.
Because of its attributes and structure the
engineered wood flooring is used in a variety of applications from home construction to commercial
buildings, industrial products and a lot in bathrooms and in basements.
