Delivery Options & Charges

Kens Yard Builders Supplies can arrange delivery to you, your customer or to site - whatever suits you or your customer best.

Owing to the vast number and variety of building products we handle we have tried to ensure that we use the most cost-effective way of arranging your deliveries - whilst keeping it as simple, secure and cost-effective as possible.

 

  • Orders placed by 4.00pm will usually be delivered within 3 to 5 working days
  • Bulky Items or Specialist Products may take longer. We have shown this on the website.

Bulky Items

Some items because of their size and weight will attract an additional handling / shipping cost of £10 to £20 per order. Where this is the case we have shown this clearly on our website.

Direct Delivery

Some items are bulky but low in value. In these instances we have arranged with our suppliers to have these products delivered direct to your address / site. Items delivered direct will also minimise the risk of damage. In order to ensure you pay no shipping costs for these items we have stipulated a minimum order quantity. These products are clearly marked on our website.

Access

We assume that the delivery address will be accessible by a large lorry (40'-0"). If not please let us know at time of order - and about any restrictions, for example, if the road is subject to a vehicle weight or width limit. Bulky Items can only be delivered to the 'kerb-side' if crane-offload or tailgate-drop. If otherwise we will do our best to deliver your order to an external ground floor location at your specified address if practical. We must ask that you provide or arrange assistance unloading the goods - or advise us at time of order if you are unable to do so.

All Other Areas

Please allow 4-6 days for standard delivery. For orders to some addresses, especially in the Highlands of Scotland and Offshore, delivery can take several days. This will be clarified at time of ordering. Remote areas are defined as postcodes: AB35 - IV36 - 1V49 - IV52 - HS1 - HS9 - IV51 - IV56 - PA41 - PA49 - PA60 - PA78 - PH42 - PH44 - KW15 - KW17 - ZE1 - ZE3.

Note: We do not normally deliver to the Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland or BFPO. However we'd be pleased to quote you - let us know if you're interested.

Don't get "Carded"

Please ensure there is a responsible adult authorized and available to sign for your order at your address. If not please leave us special instructions to leave with a neighbour. If we fail to make a delivery on the first attempt a card will be left by the courier company. A second attempt to deliver will be made and if this is also unsuccessful another card will be left and your order will be returned to the nearest depot from the courier company for collection by you.

Lead Times

On rare occasions some items maybe out of stock which might delay your order. If this happens, we'll let you know straightaway. As soon as they come back into stock we will dispatch them immediately.

Returns

At Ken's Yard building supplies we want you to be fully satisfied every time you purchase from us. In the unlikely event that an item does not meet your expectations you may return the goods at your expense for a full refund minus 25% admin fee, without giving a reason, provided the goods are undamaged, within the original packaging and unopened, in unused condition and you DO SO WITHIN 7 DAYS of delivery. If any of the above criteria are not met, we will not accept or refund a return.

In the event that the wrong sizes or quantities are ordered, you must let us know within 7 days of delivery. Once again, you may return the items at your expense and, so long as the goods are undamaged, in unused condition and our supplier accepts them back into their stocks we will issue a refund to the value of the goods minus the 25% administration and re-stocking fee.

All refunds will be issued as promptly as possible and within a maximum of 30 days from receiving your cancellation request in writing, or from receiving the returned goods in the condition outlined above. All agreed refunds will be made using the same payment methods as used by the purchaser.

 

Short Delivery & Damages

Please check your delivery (open your boxes etc) and let us know of any shortages or damages within 48 hours

On Receipt of Goods

On delivery please ensure that you inspect your product(s), as we cannot accept any claim for damage/shortage unless the delivery note has been endorsed accordingly. Any subsequent claim must be notified within 48 hours of delivery. If you advise us of any damage we usually request a digital photo to be sent to webteam@kensyard.co.uk.
